IAAP Awards

The Call for Nominations for the following five awards opens on August 1, 2025.

To be nominated for an IAAP Award, an individual must be a Full Member of the Association. The nominator coordinates the nomination process until the completed nomination packet, stating clearly for which Award it is designated, is submitted to Christine Roland-Lévy (Christine.Roland.Levy@gmail.com) as the Chair of the Committee on Awards:

a) The nominator collects all the letters along with other nomination materials.

b) The nominator sends the completed nomination packet by email to the Chair of the Committee on Awards.

The nomination packet shall include the following materials to be accepted for review by the Committee on Awards:

  • A letter of nomination (no more than 500 words) that provides: (i) the name and e-mail address of the nominator; (ii) the name and e-mail address of the nominee; (iii) a description of the distinguished scientific contributions of the nominee to applied psychology, and the international influence of the nominee’s research on applications of psychological knowledge – the letter should be signed by the nominator.
  • A brief curriculum vitae or resume for the nominee (no more than two pages).
  • A list of the most important publications and/or relevant merits of the nominee (no more than two pages).

The letters of endorsement (a minimum of three and a maximum of five) – each letter should be addressed to the Chair of the Committee on Awards and signed, and only one of the letters may come from the nominee’s home institution.

All the recipients will be expected to attend the International Congress of Applied Psychology (ICAP) in Florence and to be at the Opening Ceremony where they will publicly receive a certificate.

Complete nomination packets must be submitted before December 1, 2025.


IAAP Distinguished Professional Contributions Award
Established in 1982, the IAAP Distinguished Professional Contributions Award recognizes “outstanding contributions to the international advancement of the practice of psychology”. It is given to a candidate who has developed, refined, and implemented practices, procedures, and methods that have had a major, demonstrable international impact on the practice of psychology or policy interventions in more than one country.

IAAP Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award
Established in 1994, the IAAP Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award recognizes “demonstrated international scientific impact”. It is given to a candidate who has made distinguished scientific contributions to the field of applied psychology that have resulted in a better understanding of a psychological phenomenon, and new or improved applications of psychological knowledge in more than one country.

IAAP Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Applied Psychology
Established in 2022, the “IAAP Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Applied Psychology” recognizes IAAP Members who have made “significant contributions to the international advancement of applied psychology”. The recipient of this award should be an IAAP Member who has made distinguished and enduring contributions to international cooperation and advancement of knowledge in applied psychology. In whatever form the individual’s contributions are regarded as distinguished, the impact of the work shall have been on the international advancement of applied psychology.
IAAP Award for Distinguished Lifetime Service to the International Association of Applied Psychology
Established in 2022, the “IAAP Award for Distinguished Lifetime Service to the International Association of Applied Psychology” recognizes an IAAP Member who have given exceptional service to the association during her/his career. The recipient of this award should be an individual who has made distinguished and enduring lifetime contributions to the Association.
IAAP Early Career Achievement Award
Established in 2022, the “IAAP Early Career Achievement Award” (less than 10 years after last degree), recognizes the exceptional quality of the contribution of new researchers to the application of psychological knowledge through research, refereed publications, success in securing research grants and visibility.
The award is open to IAAP members (not student members) who have completed their doctoral degree (PhD) less than 10 years prior to being nominated for the award and who are no longer enrolled as a student in a graduate program.
