Welcome to the
International Association of Applied Psychology

President's Welcome

July, 2016. The International Congress of Psychology has drawn to a close, and there will be much exciting news coming to you in the weeks ahead.

The IAAP Board of Directors held its meeting on July 26.  It received reports and adopted recommendations about IAAP governance, congresses, and strategic plans, all of which are steps to strengthen applied psychology worldwide.

If you have suggestions about any facet of IAAP, please contact me. I am always looking forward to hearing from you.

Janel Gauthier, Ph.D., President

At its Board meeting in Yokohama on July 26, the Directors of IAAP voted unanimously to establish an administrative office or operations center.  Our plan for doing so is to seek proposals from organizations and individuals willing to contract with us for the coming years.  A request for proposals will be published here on September 1.

  • A request for proposals (RFP) is now being developed. It will be circulated widely in an open procurement process.  Incidentally, we welcome any suggestions you might have for additional organizations or individuals who should receive the RFP.

To obtain a copy of the RFP when it is issued, email Milton Hakel at itc@iaapsy.org

The second annual Solutions Summit is a catalytic gathering that will take place at UN Headquarters in New York on the evening of 21 September 2016 during UN General Assembly week. The purpose of the Solutions Summit is two-fold: 1) to lift up exceptional innovators -- technologists, engineers, scientists, and others -- who are developing solutions that address one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); and 2) to catalyze a grassroots effort, where communities scout and convene resources around solution-makers.
